SsangYong Rexton 320: Rex flex it’s pecs
Few 4 x 4’s are as underrated as the Rexton. It blends Italian designer looks with Mercedes Technology at prices that are closer to compact 4 x 4’s than full size SUV’s.
And the Rexton is certainly full size. Last year it beat Grand Cherokee in a twin test, to the surprise of many. The Rexton then was the 270 diesel, until then the pick of the range. But now there’s a new version, a performance flagship in the form of a 320, powered by Mercedes straight six petrol power. It’s almost as fast as a Range Rover at a fraction of the cost. We found it more stable and assured than the outgoing Mercedes M-Class.
Rexton’s sharp styling gives it a modern, distinctive look in a sea of lookalike 4 x 4’s.
